Current Tesla cars use Nvidia graphics processors as part of the hardware for autonomous vehicles. Earlier, Tesla also used a visual recognition chip made by Israeli technology company Mobileye. Later, Intel bought Mobileye for $15 billion. It is worth noting that Tesla does not have a cooperative relationship with Intel. In fact, Intel has maintained a long-term cooperation with Waymo car group, an autonomous driving technology company under Google's parent company Alphabet.


Nvidia's image processor is widely used in the field of artificial intelligence, but its wide range of uses is not limited to some simple computing tasks, so custom chips have been developed. Tesla first used the Nvidia Tegra chip in its MCU controller; later, Tesla switched to its own chip and launched Fully Automatic Driving (FSD); later, with the introduction of Autopilot, Tesla Turned to Intel chips.
