AMS1117-3.3 heat 5V voltage input, input current 170ma.

I made a board by myself, STM32F103C8T6+w5500. After working for a period of time, the board is very hot. After inquiry, the temperature of W5500 is about 50 degrees when working, but the AMS1117-3.3 of the circuit board is very hot, at least 70 degrees.

After measurement, AMS1117-3.3 has an output current of 150ma and an input current of 170mA when there is a load; when the load is disconnected, the input current is 10.7mA. It is written in the chip manual that AMS1117-3.3 can be up to 800mA--1A,

I wonder why the chip is so hot?

It is estimated that AMS1117 has a soft breakdown. Try another one. It should not be hot without loading.

It should be a bit hot, do you have to see if 3.3V is stable?
