The Erase Suspend and Program Suspend feature in the AT49BV802D(T) Flash memory allows the system to interrupt an erase or program operation, respectively, and then read data from or program data to a different sector within the memory. This feature puts the erase or program on hold for any amount of time, allowing the user to access data from or program data to any remaining sectors within the memory. The end of a program or erase cycle is detected by the READY/BUSY pin, Data Polling, or by the toggle bit. The Program Suspend command requires a maximum of 20 µs to suspend the programming operation, while the Erase Suspend command requires a maximum of 15 µs to suspend the erase operation. To resume the programming or erase operation, the system must write the Program Resume or Erase Resume command, respectively. The command sequences for erase suspend and program suspend are the same, as are the command sequences for erase resume and program resume.
